Where it all began

While living as a nanny in Houston, TX, I began teaching myself the ins and outs of makeup by watching YouTube videos and fell in love with how relaxing and fun makeup is. In 2012, I had my makeup done for a wedding I was in. I realized that a career as a makeup artist was possible. I began doing friends’ hair and makeup for fun, with a few sprinkled in, and special events I haven’t looked back since!

How I got here

I have been in the hair and makeup industry for over 13 years. My experience ranges from being a front desk manager to a freelance makeup artist to working at the supply store (Cosmoprof). I began my education with an apprenticeship and completed my schooling in 2018 at a name-brand school in Madison. Before founding Ember Hair & Co, I worked at a small salon in Oregon, WI. After schooling, I worked at ANiU Salon in Middleton, WI.

My role

I am 50% owner. I take clients behind the chair during the week while managing our supply inventory, keeping an eye on education classes for us & current trends from new techniques to new products.

The mission

Our mission is to create a fun yet relaxing, safe salon space for clients. We strive to be open and honest with clients while working with their lifestyle to ensure their customized hair journey is the best fit for THEM.

Ember Hair & Co. isn’t just a job for us. It is our passion, and we are lucky to have a career. Our clients aren’t just clients; the relationships we build with them become truly special.

Outside of the salon

I love to read, travel, spend time with family & friends (including my fiancé Brad & fur baby, Esther), and obsessively listen to Taylor’s Version. 😉
